Most of the safety work happens before we run: choosing the day, preparing the gear and briefing you.
The pilot
A commercial tandem paragliding licence, 8 years of flying in 25 countries, and insurance for flying with passengers, as Slovenian law requires.
The gear
A tandem paraglider, a harness with back protection and a helmet for you, and a reserve parachute for both of us.
The weather
Wind, thermals, clouds and rain decide everything. If anything looks wrong, we wait or pick another day.
The briefing
Before takeoff you learn how to run, how to sit in the harness and how to land. It's short and you'll remember it.
Your part
- Weigh 40–110 kg and be able to run a few slow steps.
- Tell me before you book about heart or back problems, recent injuries, pregnancy or epilepsy.
- Wear sturdy shoes and long trousers.
- On takeoff: run, and keep running even when your feet leave the ground.
- Follow my instructions on the ground and in the air.
Questions from the trail
Is tandem paragliding dangerous?
Every air sport carries some risk. In tandem flying the main factors are the weather, the takeoff and the landing, which is exactly where the pilot's decisions and your briefing matter most.
What if something goes wrong in the air?
I carry a reserve parachute for both of us.
Who decides if we fly?
I do, and I'll always explain why.
Do I sign anything?
Yes, a short waiver in Slovene or English before the flight.
Can children fly?
Yes, if they weigh at least 40 kg. Guests under 18 need a parent's or guardian's signature.
