Seven days, seven different adventures, and never a long drive between them.

In short

Slovenia fits the Alps, rivers, caves, vineyards and the sea into a country you can cross by car in a few hours. That makes it one of Europe's easiest places for an active holiday: a different adventure every day, never far apart.

A 7-day plan

  1. Day 1: LjubljanaArrive, walk the old town, eat well. Save your legs.
  2. Day 2: Hike & fly in GorenjskaHike up Potoška gora or Kriška gora and fly down. Back in Ljubljana for dinner.
  3. Day 3: Bled and BohinjWalk around Lake Bled, then hike above Lake Bohinj.
  4. Day 4: The Soča ValleyRafting or canyoning in the emerald river.
  5. Day 5: The Julian AlpsA high-mountain day over the Vršič Pass, Slovenia's highest road pass.
  6. Day 6: The Vipava ValleyA morning flight from Kovk, then cycling and a wine tasting.
  7. Day 7: The Karst and the coastŠkocjan Caves in the morning, a swim in Piran in the afternoon.

More active days

Via ferratas in the Julian Alps, the shepherd huts of Velika planina, cycling the Parenzana trail, kayaking on Lake Bohinj, and ski touring in winter.
