Ambrož: drive up, fly down.
Ambrož pod Krvavcem is a takeoff on the slopes of Krvavec, under an hour from Ljubljana. It's a clearing in the forest at about 1,335 m. We drive there, so this is our Ride & Fly: no hiking, just flying, down to the landing field in Grad.

What the flight is like
You take off with the whole Gorenjska plain below you, almost 1,000 m down to the landing. On a clear day you can see Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak, and the planes landing at the airport.
A takeoff in a forest clearing
The takeoff isn't a summit but a clearing cut into the forest on the slope of Krvavec. It works best in southwest wind; west and south wind can work too, depending on how strong it is.
Same landing as Krvavec
Ambrož and Krvavec, higher up on the same mountain, share the landing field in Grad. Krvavec adds a short walk; Ambrož is just the drive.
Questions from the trail
Do I have to hike?
No. We drive right to the takeoff.
Ambrož or Krvavec?
The wind decides, and how much you want to walk. Both land in Grad.
Can I combine it with a day in Ljubljana?
Yes. Ambrož is under an hour from the city.
